Experimentally economic analysis of ORC power plant with low-temperature waste heat recovery

Abstract: Due to the low boiling point of organic fluids, the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is an effective way to improve the recovery efficiency of low-temperature waste heat. An ORC power plant was established with an actual generating capacity of 16.3 kW. As the ORC technology is in the initial stage of commercial application, a technical and economic analysis has been conducted in this paper. Through analysis of each part investment of the power generation plant, it is found that the ORC system part accounts for 61% … Show more

“…The current state of research focuses on the advisability of using a helical evaporator [36] for the ORC plant. For the study of the expander we will follow the procedure described in previous papers [31][32][33][34][35][36][37], trying to define the more efficient device. Only the condenser is under evaluation.…”

“…The Organic Rankine Cycle can be used to recover energy from exhaust gases, such as electric trains and boats, improving fuel consumption and reducing their environmental impact [6]. The interesting, perhaps new, aspect is that in almost all cases, when researchers talk about ORC systems, they are talking about stationary configurations [5][6][7][8][9][10]. Apart from that, there are a lot of works on small ORC systems.…”
