Background Quantitative data reports are widely produced to inform health policy decisions. Policymakers are expected to critically assess provided information in order to incorporate the best available evidence into the decision-making process. Many other factors are known to influence this process, but little is known about how quantitative data reports are actually read. We explored the reading behavior of (future) health policy decision-makers, using innovative methods. Methods We conducted a computer-assisted laboratory study, involving starting and advanced students in medicine and health sciences, and professionals as participants. They read a quantitative data report to inform a decision on the use of resources for long-term care in dementia in a hypothetical decision scenario. Data were collected through eye-tracking, questionnaires, and a brief interview. Eye-tracking data were used to generate ‘heatmaps’ and five measures of reading behavior. The questionnaires provided participants’ perceptions of understandability and helpfulness as well as individual characteristics. Interviews documented reasons for attention to specific report sections. The quantitative analysis was largely descriptive, complemented by Pearson correlations. Interviews were analyzed by qualitative content analysis. Results In total, 46 individuals participated [students (85%), professionals (15%)]. Eye-tracking observations showed that the participants spent equal time and attention for most parts of the presented report, but were less focused when reading the methods section. The qualitative content analysis identified 29 reasons for attention to a report section related to four topics. Eye-tracking measures were largely unrelated to participants’ perceptions of understandability and helpfulness of the report. Conclusions Eye-tracking data added information on reading behaviors that were not captured by questionnaires or interviews with health decision-makers.

Models of sports student exchange and the role of their support systems

Establishing student exchange programs is one way for sports science faculty to support the University to be a world-class university. For several years the faculty has been hosting several batches of a sports students exchange (SSE) program that gains interest and benefits for the students and the institution; however, limited studies have been conducted to present information about the program and its support system. This research is conducted to explain and give an overview of the program as well as explore the support system of the program. Three primary data, namely a depth-interview, questionnaire, and documentation, are gathered to explore the SSE program. The participants are lectures, faculty management, and students involved in the SSE in 2018-2019. The existence of the SSE program was exceedingly influenced by the faculty participation in AUCPESS. A grant from the Dharmasiswa Scholarship that aimed to bolster the exchange of culture and build up the Faculty's International atmosphere was the first booster. However, after the funding stopped, the program ran independently with non-financial support from Rector, faculty management, partner universities, and students. Hence, funding is not a pivotal issue as long as the University and faculty management eager to support the program.

The availability of updated and easy access to geospatial data and information is the main thing in disaster mitigation and sustainable spatial planning. This needs to be supported by the rapid development of technology in the aspect of spreading data and spatial information via the internet. The Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is realized as an implementation of spatial data distribution. SDI is an integrated mechanism to make it easier for spatial data users to access, search, share, and use spatial data and information. Built upon the background statements, the research does intend to develop a web-app which is functioned as a data repository, viewer, and also simple processing (web GIS). To design and develop a disaster geospatial online application web-app that has an integrated function (repository-web GIS) following the directions and input from user feedback becomes the fold of the research. . The importance of putting the user needs in building a web-app to be used by anyone universally is more realistic and practical. The user interface is very essential in bridging communication between users and web mapping systems. User-centred design (UCD) implemented by gathering input and feedback from users. UCD describes the process of ensuring interface success throughout the design and development of the interface. GeoNode has chosen as the platform since it is open-sourced, and commonly used for managing and publishing geospatial data. Based on respondents' assessment of the quality of content/information that important to be developed in a disaster website, it is recognized that providing reliable and up-to-date data and information (69%) and the accuracy of data and information (74%) are the most important things to develop in the InDITA application. the most important features to respondents are the spatial data display feature/map viewer (89%). The design of InDITA was built interactive and user-friendly which designed as an application that accommodates simple viewer, data repository, and web GIS functions. The interactive design emerged as the demand for app users.
