Exploring the interaction of quercetin-3-O-sophoroside with SARS-CoV-2 main proteins by theoretical studies: A probable prelude to control some variants of coronavirus including Delta

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanism of interaction between quercetin-3-O-sophoroside and different SARS-CoV-2's proteins which can bring some useful details about the control of different variants of coronavirus including the recent case, Delta. The chemical structure of the quercetin-3-O-sophoroside was first optimized. Docking studies were performed by CoV disease-2019 (COVID-19) Docking Server. Afterwards, the molecular dynamic study was done using High Throughput Molecular Dynamics (HTMD… Show more

“…ORF1ab, ORF3a, ORF8, N, M, and S regions have all been found to have mutations, with nt8782 in ORF 1a and nt28144 ORF 8 showed mutation rate of 29.47% and 30.53%, respectively (Wang et al 2020 ; Hasan and Alhayani 2021 ; Mohammed and Daham 2021 ). In addition, it is believed that nucleotide variations, one of the most important indicators of viral development, are also responsible for modifying the virus in all conditions (Mostafaei et al 2021 ; Hui 2006 ; Domingo 2000 ; Taheri et al 2021 ; Ibrahim et al 2021 ; Khan et al 2021 ).…”

“…Quercetin and 6-hydroxykaempferol in ethanol extract of marigold (T. erecta) have been shown to have significant anticancer activity against both A549 and HEPG2 cells (38). Quercetin-3-O-sophoroside is an important member of the glucoside group of quercetin and is an established anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, and antiviral edible compound (39). In this study, single quercetin-3-O-sophoroside and 6-hydroxykaempferol-3,6-Odiglucoside have no activities against both A549 and U2OS cells.…”
