Expression and Localization of SWAP-70 in Human Fetomaternal Interface and Placenta During Tubal Pregnancy and Normal Placentation

Abstract: SWAP-70 has been demonstrated as a multiple functional signaling protein involved in formation of membrane ruffling induced by signal cascade of tyrosine kinase growth factor receptors. In the present study, the spatial and temporal expression pattern of SWAP-70 on human fetomaternal interface was investigated using specimens collected from tubal and normal pregnancies by in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and Western blotting. Data showed an intense expression of SWAP-70 in trophoblasts at weeks 3-6… Show more

“…Piezo type mechanosensitive ion channel component 1 ( PIEZO1 ), is an important molecular marker of blood flow in the placenta and has the potential to be a new therapeutic target for the treatment of placental vascular diseases [105]. Switching B cell complex subunit SWAP70 is involved in regulating migration and invasion of trophoblast cells during the processes of embryonic implantation as well as placentation [106]. Podocalyxin ( PODXL ) is significantly increased in early-onset preeclampsia and may represent a novel marker of maternal endothelial cell dysfunction [107,108].…”

“…Subsequently, its expression has been demonstrated in MC (14), primary embryonic fibroblasts (15), DC (16), trophoblasts (17) and gliomas (18). In B cells, SWAP-70 is involved not only in nuclear events but also in signaling events in the cytoplasm during cell activation (19) and in efficient homing to the lymph nodes (20).…”

“…Some DEGs were not located on the X-chromosome but were associated with placentation. For example, PLAU has been associated with trophoblast invasion [ 23 ] and SWAP70 has been associated with placentation [ 24 ]. We performed analyses of up-regulated and down-regulated genes from the comparison of male and female placenta samples.…”
