Expression of MTA1 in endometriosis and its relationship to the recurrence

Abstract: Metastasis-associated gene 1 (MTA1) is correlated with prognosis of many tumors. However, little is known about the role of MAT1 in endometriosis and its relationship with the recurrence of endometriosis. The expression of MTA1 in normal, eutopic and ectopic endometrium was detected by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR, respectively. The relationship of MTA1 expression with the recurrence of endometriosis was evaluated. In the normal endometrium, eutopic endometrium and ectopic endometrium, the positive rates of M… Show more

“…In tumorigenesis, netrin-1 promotes cell survival, proliferation, invasion and migration in different types of cancer, such as prostate carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric cancer, and breast cancer (67)(68)(69)(70). Although endometriosis is a benign gynecological disease, it demonstrates malignant behaviors in its adhesion, proliferation, invasion, metastasis and recurrence (71)(72)(73)(74). Thus, elevated netrin-1 may also be involved in the growth of endometriotic lesions.…”

“…As resveratrol is effective in treating endometriosis, 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 we treated EcESCs with resveratrol to explore whether MTA1 is a target. The 50% inhibition concentration (IC 50 ) of resveratrol was determined by a Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay and calculated using GraphPad Prism 7.0 ( Figure S2 ).…”

“…Recently, immunochemical staining showed the overexpression of MTA1 in ectopic tissues of patients with endometriosis in the advanced revised American Fertility Society (r-AFS) stage. 10 However, the mechanism of MTA1-inducing endometriosis has not yet been studied.…”

“…Previous finding showed that r-AFS stage and MTA1 overexpression were risk factors for the recurrence of endometriosis. MTA1 is closely associated with the occurrence and development of endometriosis and may be used as a new indicator to predict the progression of endometriosis (Zhang et al 2018). The abnormal increasing level of ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 4C (ARL4C) has been reported to be involved in progression processes of endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer (EAOC) (Wakinoue et al 2019), suggesting differentially expressed proteins are associated with progression or recurrence of endometriosis and can be used as novel therapeutic targets.…”
