Extracting flavonoid from Ginkgo biloba using lignocellulolytic bacteria Paenarthrobacter sp. and optimized via response surface methodology

Abstract: Ginkgo biloba flavonoids are important natural bioactive compounds with strong physiological effects. To develop an eco‐friendly and effective method for extracting flavonoids from plants, a microbial method involving lignocellulose‐degrading bacterial enzymes was developed to improve flavonoid extraction from Ginkgo biloba leaves. In this study, a newly isolated bacterial strain, Paenarthrobacter sp. S1.3, was employed for the fermentation processing of Ginkgo biloba leaf powder. The enzymatic characteristics… Show more

“…Orange wax has these bioactive compounds; it is therefore a source that can be used to obtain them. Future research on using OW would be directed to implementing other methods to extract the bioactive compounds, both traditional methods or advantageous technologies 55 . This latter would contribute to solving the problems generated by the excessive use of agrochemicals in phytosanitary management.…”

“…They are natural substances with functional groups that play an important role in the protection and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Bilobalides and ginkgolides are present in all parts of the ginkgo seeds they contain, and the highest total terpenoid content was found in the embryo and endosperm [ 8 ].…”

“…A Box-Behnken experiment was used to design a response surface analysis test (Table S3), the RS yield was taken as the response value (Y), and these significant parameters were set as central points (Han et al, 2021;Ko et al, 2012;Saikia et al, 2018). Experimental results were fitted to a second-order polynomial equation using multiple-regression analysis.…”
