Fabrication and characteristics of graphene‐reinforced silver nanowire/polybenzoxazine/epoxy copolymer composite thin films

Abstract: In this study, composite thin films were fabricated by mixing one‐dimensional silver nanowires (AgNWs) with graphene, polybenzoxazine (PBZ) and epoxy. Their electrical and thermal properties under different environmental conditions were investigated. The AgNWs were prepared by a polyol reduction method using ethylene glycol as a reducing agent and polyvinylpyrrolidone as a soft template to reduce silver ions. High aspect ratio AgNWs were then mixed into polymer matrices to allow them to form electrical and the… Show more

“…It has been reported that PVP acted as a capping agent during the preparation of AgNWs and led to high uniformity and controlled facet growth along the longitudinal growth direction. [40][41][42][43][44][45] It is believed that PVP possesses binding properties, and therefore, it adsorbed selectively on the side surface, the {100} facet of AgNWs, and restricted the growth of side surface, hence controlling the diameter of AgNWs throughout the entire length. 46 Moreover, it has also been reported that due to the binding properties of PVP onto the facets of AgNWs, high molecular weight is more promising in efficient synthesis of AgNWs.…”

“…The curing of BOZ and EP has been shown an increase of cross-linking density and T g . 29,30,35,[40][41][42] This matrix was then reinforced with the use of two nanofillers, namely, Nanene-001 and Nanene-002. Mechanical testing was extended to include two novel mixed blend graphene fillers.…”

“…Network structure has a significant effect on the properties of composites. Many researchers have studied the reaction mechanism of the network structure formation between EP composites with BOZ . The reaction is more complicated with amine hardeners than without hardeners .…”
