Fabrication and Characterization of Antibacterial Titanium Dioxide Nanorods Incorporating Gellan Gum Films

Abstract: The aim of this work was to develop bionanocomposite films based biopolymer GG and TiO 2 -NRs for active food packaging. The TiO 2 -NRs were incorporated as antimicrobials agent into GG via solvent casting method. The films appearance was have 94 % of transparency. SEM micrographs indicate that the TiO 2 -NRs were successfully incorporated and attached to the surface of developed GG films. FTIR results revealed the interaction between TiO 2 -NRs and hydroxyl group of GG polymer. XRD results showed the crystall… Show more

“…In addition, the robes and coats have an elegant air, which makes the actor's own image more tall and grand and helps to highlight his important position in the family. Therefore, in this drama, robes and coats become one of the main visual elements, often appearing in various occasions, such as rituals and weddings [12]. In addition to ISSN 2618-1568 Vol.…”

“…Thus, their functionalization is necessary [32]. Moreover, nano-TiO 2 can improve the physicochemical ( Figure 2) and functional properties of polysaccharide-based materials like starch, sodium alginate, carboxymethyl cellulose, chitosan, pullulan, agar, k-Carrageenan, xanthan gum, and gellan gum-based materials [1,5,17,[20][21][22]33]. .…”

“…The potential biomedical applications of nonconventional polysaccharide-based materials functionalized with TiO 2 have been investigated (Table 5). Razali et al [33] informed that the addition of TiO 2 in gellan gum films improved their thermal stability and antimicrobial activity (by agar test diffusion assay) against S. aureus (inhibition of 10 mm), Streptococcus sp. (inhibition of 12 mm), E. coli (inhibition of 11 mm), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (inhibition of 10 mm) without significant changes in transparency (transmittance of 94%) compared with the gellan gum-based film (without antimicrobial activity and transmittance of 100%).…”
