“…The assembly of bulky molecules with α-ZrP nanosheets to form a restacked layered structure usually includes several steps: exfoliation of α-ZrP, removal of exfoliating agents (this step could be skipped depending on the application requirements [104,105] ), dispersing exfoliated α-ZrP nanosheets with desired guest molecules, and onestep assembly of the nanosheets with the guest molecules during removal of solvent. One typical example following all these steps is the immobilization of 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (BMIMCl), an ionic liquid, within restacked α-ZrP nanosheets, [106] as shown in Figure 8F.…”

“…Zirconium phosphate (ZrP) was synthesized by precipitation of a ZrOCl 2 $8H 2 O solution in NH 4 H 2 PO 4 solution. 40 Aer being washed with deionized water, the white precipitate was dried at 373 K for 12 h and calcined at 673 K in air for 4 h.…”

“…During the last decade, some researches on luminescent chromophores intercalated to layered ZrP have been reported. Colón, Clearfield, our group and others, studied the luminescence and photophysical performance of certain metal complexes (such as Pt (II), Ru (II), Al(III) and Zn(II) complex) intercalated into ZrP, and found that these metal complexes could exhibit intense emission at room temperature after intercalation. However, to the best of our knowledge, the RE ions‐doped ZrP nanosheet phosphors synthesized by direct precipitation method have not been reported yet.…”
