“…Hyaluronic acid (HA) was used for the functionalization of nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (HA-CQDs) that provide robust fluorescent dots for use in confocal microscopy and flow cytometry. The results proved that HA-CQDs can be used as a new biocompatible cell-specific targeting probe for imaging of CD44 receptor-over expressed in cancer cells [110][111][112]. Besides targeting the specific cells, high selectivity on the organelle is another way to achieve the targeting function.…”

“…The bismuth element of HA-Bi 2 O 3 NPs was quantified by linear calibration using amounts of potassium iodine previously determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS). 36 and incubated for 24 h at 37°C and 5% CO 2 , and then the growth medium was replaced with DMEM containing different concentrations of HA-Bi 2 O 3 NPs. Each sample was prepared in triplicate.…”

“…The N 1s spectrum of BP-DEX/PEI nanoparticles in Fig. 1e shows two peaks at 399.2 and 401.2 eV, which can be attributed to the binding energies of N from C-N and N-H bonds [31], confirming the successful modification of BP with PEI. The two distinct peaks at 129.3 and 130.2 eV are assigned to 2p 3/2 and 2p 1/2 orbitals of zero-valence phosphorous in the P 2p spectrum, respectively (Fig.…”
