Fabrication of magnetic Fe3O4/MnO2/TiO2/polypyrrole heterostructure for efficient adsorption of Mn7+ from aqueous solution

Abstract: Magnetic Fe3O4/MnO2/TiO2/polypyrrole (PPy) heterostructure as adsorbent for adsorbing Mn7+ was synthesized by combining hydrothermal method and chemical oxidation method. The heterostructure was characterized by field‐emission scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and vibrating sample magnetometer. Its saturation magnetization is 18.88 emu/g, so it is easy to separate it from the solution. The feasibility of Fe3O4/MnO2/TiO2/PPy heterostructure to remove Mn7+ … Show more

“…3,19 In the CC/PPy spectrum, the peaks at 1446, 1305, 1156, 1030, and 795 cm À1 separately belong to pyrrole ring vibration, =C-H in-plane deformation, C-N and C-H stretching vibrations, and N-H in-plane vibration. [20][21][22] A closer look reveals that the infrared characteristic peaks possessed by the two previously mentioned substances can be found in the infrared spectrum of CC/MP, which indicate that these substances are still present in CC/MP, proving the successful preparation of the composite.…”

“…Conductive polymers [256] are also commonly compounded with MOFs as excellent absorbers due to their high dielectric, low density, flexibility, corrosion resistance, low cost and tunable absorbing frequency width properties [257][258][259]. Conductive polymers such as polyaniline (PANI) [260][261][262][263] and polypyrrole (PPy) [264,265] are usually used. Conductive polymers with adjustable conductivity when compounded with MOFs can modulate the electromagnetic parameters of the material so that the absorber can move towards lower fill rates and thinner thicknesses while still ensuring a good EAB.…”
