Fabrication of triblock ABA type peptide dendrimer based on glutamic acid dimethyl ester and PEG as a potential nano drug delivery agent

Abstract: Introduction: Peptide dendrimers build up from amino acids and they simulate to artificial proteins with globular architecture. These characteristics furnish peptide dendrimers with best biodegradability and biocompatibility in drug delivery systems. Methods: A barbell-like dendrimer from glutamic acid dimethyl ester-poly (ethylene glycol)-glutamic acid dimethyl ester as ABA-type triblock copolymer (PG-PEG-PG) was prepared with liquid-phase peptide synthesis via a divergent approach. PEG 600 diacid (PEG-A) an… Show more

“…[28][29][30][31] PEG conjugates with dendrons based on natural amino and hydroxy acids deserve a special mention. [32][33][34][35][36] Due to their composition, such linear-dendritic copolymers demonstrate high biocompatibility and low toxicity, possess a large number of functional ionogenic groups on the periphery, and may be used for effective binding of various biologically active substances. 37 To date, tri-and diblock copolymers of PEG with lysine dendrons are the most studied ones.…”

“…[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14] Designing efficient drug delivery systems (DDSs) represents one of the frontier concerns of science regarding human health care. [15][16][17][18][19] The upcoming bioactive molecules as therapeutic agents are related to the design of a suitable system for their delivery into the body. Proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, and small bioactive molecules are unstable compounds that are required to be protected from degradation in the biological environment.…”

“…27,28 Biodegradable hyperbranched polymers based on aliphatic polyester, poly(D,L-lactide) and polyaniline and five-arm and functionalized star-like polyaniline and polycaprolactone polymers with a D-glucose core have also been utilized as effective biomaterials. 29,30 Among these, dendritic nanocarriers are most favourable nanostructures because of the branching features [31][32][33][34] which are useful in multi-drug delivery systems. 35 Due to the easy deformation of linear polymers through the pores of the renal filtration membrane, their elimination via renal excretion is done easily.…”
