Facile synthesis of nanostructured perovskites by precursor accumulation on nanocarbons

Abstract: Various nano-perovskites are synthesized by dropping a precursor solution of metal salts into nanocarbon, followed by drying and calcination in air. The accumulation of precursors on the surface of nanocarbon is the key step.

“…In this study, nickel nitrate, iron nitrate, and carbon were dispersed in the solution and then dropped onto the GC electrode. During the drying process, the metal precursors accumulate on the carbon surface, where different precursors are present in a mixed state . Thus, in this study, the Ni and Fe species were present adjacently such that they could interact with each other.…”

As shown by CV (Figure 2c), this interaction Figure 3c shows cyclic voltammograms of the NiFe/C composite catalysts.…”

“…This homogeneous mixing of precursors on nanocarbons agrees with that observed in our previous work on the synthesis of nano-perovskites. 36 During the synthesis of NiFe 2 O x /C, Ni nitrate and Fe nitrate would be deposited Paper NJC homogeneously on CB, and the calcination at 350 1C would convert the mixture of the precursors into the NiFe mixed metal oxide. Hence, NiFe oxide species were formed on CB.…”

“…31 In this study, we described a simple synthesis of a NiFeamorphous oxide/nanocarbon composite and demonstrated its high OER activity owing to the synergistic effect of the amorphous NiFe structure and the conductivity of nanocarbon. The technique used for the synthesis of the composite catalysts is based on a simple approach reported in our previous works 35,36 in which nanostructured mixed oxides were synthesized as follows (Fig. 1; steps 1, 2, and 3):…”
