Factor analysis for the adoption of nuclear technology in diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases

Abstract: Objective: To identify and evaluate latent variables (variables that are not directly observed) for adopting and using nuclear technologies in diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases. The measurement and management of these latent factors are important for healthcare due to complexities of the sector. Methods: An exploratory factor analysis study was conducted among 52 physicians practicing in the areas of Cardiology, Neurology and Oncology in the State of Sao Paulo who agreed to participate in the study b… Show more

“…Future studies thus have the challenge of refining the instruments used in innovation diffusion and/ or adoption studies (MacKenzie, Podsakoff & Podsakoff, 2011). Perhaps, we should expect more papers in the genre of Sato and Zouain (2012) geared toward instrument development and/ or refinement.…”

“…Irradiation pertains to the process of distributing energy into space or matter using waves and particles (Repacholi, 2017;Li et al, 2019). Ionizing and non-ionizing irradiation have been extensively utilized in medicine, agriculture, food processing, national defense, and daily activities, and they have also negatively influenced human health (Sato and Zouain, 2012;Sutlief, 2015;Andrianov et al, 2015;von Neubeck et al, 2015). Ionizing irradiation includes X-ray and g-ray.…”

“…Irradiation is a process of emitting and spreading energy into space or matter in forms of wave and particle, and it can be divided into ionizing irradiation and nonionizing irradiation . Although the irradiation has been intensively applied into the fields of medicine, resources, military, food processing, national defense, and living standard , it also brings a certain degree of impairment to human health . Researchers have discovered a series of physiological variation and pathological changes under irradiation, which can affect drugs’ absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion processes in body .…”
