Abstract: Substantial evidence documents the superiority of breastfeeding for mothers and breastmilk for babies.Although the American Academy of Pediatrics and the U.S. Healthy People 2010 initiative promote breastfeeding, current breastfeeding rates often fall short of recommendations.
