Factors associated with genetic testing in a cohort of breast cancer survivors

Abstract: We examined factors associated with self‐reported use of genetic testing among breast cancer survivors based on a 2015 cross‐sectional survey at eight Midwestern sites. Genetic testing was reported in 39% of our 1235 study participants, with higher utilization among those aged <50 and with a triple‐negative cancer. “…Mutations and polymorphisms in them can lead to abnormal cell growth, which can lead to the development of cancer.
