PURPOSE: Explore what entrepreneurship and success factors can help drive business to resilience and stability and achieve competitive advantage through innovation in different countries and business realities in the era of digital transformation and turbulent times. METHODOLOGY: Based on the narrative literature review, we present research findings concerning new strategies and outlooks for business innovation in times of many unknowns. Each organization wants to find its way to gain success and create its unique business model, which can capture value creation and innovativeness and be more adaptive, resilient, and stable in critical moments and sustainable over time. FINDINGS: The articles presented in this issue explore the essential factors of business innovation and success in different organizations and the environments in which these businesses function. IMPLICATIONS FOR THEORY AND PRACTICE: This article synthesizes the presented research field’s importance and relevance, connecting its theoretical background with practical research. Recommendations and implications for future trends of this research stream might also be helpful for professionals and academicians. ORIGINALITY AND VALUE: The novel studies presented in this issue were done in five different (developing and developed) countries and business sectors that present human-based and non-human-based factors as crucial factors needed to empower business transformation in a complex world. Each group of elements is essential in business success, and their components are interdependent. We need to look at the interactions and interdependencies of their components in a dynamic and network form and cannot simplify the reality, focusing only on one group of business components and ignoring the other. These unique studies provide a valuable outlook to establish dynamic, adaptive business pathways towards a sustainable and resilient organizational future and propose future research paths needed to execute structural changes in businesses.

A pandemia da Covid-19 ten un efecto considerable nas desigualdades sociais. Este artigo ten como obxectivo identificar, medir e describir os cambios nas desigualdades de renda en Galicia despois da pandemia. Para isto, calcúlanse diferentes indicadores de desigualdade de renda que permiten analizar a súa evolución antes e despois da pandemia (2014-2020), considerando as diferentes fontes de ingreso. Os principais resultados poden sintetizarse en tres aspectos. Primeiro, a pandemia implica un incremento das desigualdades de renda en Galicia en 2020. Ademais, aumentaron as desigualdades segundo o sexo, a nacionalidade, a idade e o nivel de estudos dos compoñentes do fogar, así como as desigualdades territoriais. Finalmente, as prestacións sociais desempeñaron un papel relevante á hora de suavizar o efecto da pandemia nas desigualdades. Cómpre sinalar que este efecto é asimétrico, levando a que os fogares compostos por persoas máis novas se visen claramente menos protexidos que os de maior idade.

Galicia is one of Spain's leading regions regarding agricultural and livestock production. In the light of the COVID-19 crisis, the permeability to the economic shocks of these sectors led to an unprecedented recession, given the heterogeneity of their characteristics, resulting in widespread losses. The main objective of this article is to analyze the impact of COVID-19 in the agricultural and livestock sectors in Galicia and, at the same time, identify the degree of affectation in each of these sectors, determine the impact of the pandemic in each province and study the institutional responses to the COVID-19 crisis. For this purpose, financial analysis of these sectors will be carried out through a sample of 998 companies. The results show a variation in operating income of –16.41% in the agricultural sector and –9.15% in the livestock sector in Galicia, although they are mixed across the different provinces of the region. Despite the articulation of a network of public aids and the adoption of new commercialization strategies, there are sub-sectors with high losses, such as the ornamental plant industry and the subsector dedicated to the production of beef.
