Climate change is a trending issue all over the world, and it is important to protect the environment to save future generations. Our positive intention towards pro-environmental behavior causes a significant outcome in reducing environmental degradation. At the same time, irresponsible behavior leaves serious consequences for natural resources in the future. The leaders, policymakers and researchers are putting their efforts into mitigating climate change. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of environmental awareness intervention on pro-environmental habits among employees of a public sector university in Pakistan. The findings stated that a positive change had been seen after intervention in water conservation, energy conservation, recycling, economic concern, health concern, environmental concern and environmental awareness. The study concluded that awareness plays a significant role in adopting pro-environmental habits. Moreover, future researchers can extend this study to a larger area and time.

The scarcity of water resources, climate change, and water-wasting behavior have contributed to a worsening water crisis in many countries. This has raised concerns among farmers and increased pressure on governments. Digital technologies provide effective solutions to reduce resource waste; therefore, exploring farmers’ willingness to implement water-smart farming technologies to reduce waste, especially in developing countries, requires further analysis. To address this gap, this paper aims to investigate the factors that influence farmers’ intention to minimize water waste in Algeria. The theory of planned behavior was extended with the constructs of perceived usefulness of water-smart farming and knowledge of water waste reduction. Primary data were collected from 202 farmers to test the model. The empirical evidence suggests that attitudes, knowledge about water waste reduction, perceived usefulness, and perceived behavioral control significantly predict farmers’ intention to reduce waste. These factors explained 54.6% of the variation in intention. However, social influence was not found to be a significant antecedent of intentions. This paper’s findings can provide useful insights for various stakeholders on how to encourage farmers to reduce water waste and offer guidance on strategies for achieving sustainability in agriculture.

Amidst growing concerns about water shortages, harnessing the potential of social media emerges as a crucial strategy in attempts to conserve consumption While informative messaging in environmental communication has been widely acknowledged, the role of emotional appeal remains underexplored. This study aims to bridge this gap by proposing a comprehensive framework that integrates emotional appeal, evoked through video creativity and multimedia effects. Focusing on the UK context and informed by the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), the study highlights the complex interplay between cognitive and affective factors in water conservation communication. By applying Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to a dataset containing 443 responses, the analysis reveals that emotional appeal, when evoked through creativity, not only positively influences individuals’ attitudes but also extends to shape perceived behavioural control. These findings further emphasise the ability of emotional appeal to serve as a complementary aspect that enriches individuals’ motivational framework and influences their inclination towards engaging in the intended behaviour. The study has important implications for improving current marketing efforts and encouraging behavioural shifts among water consumers. By including emotional appeal in social media communication strategies, environmental communicators can build empathy and promote sustainability more effectively. Additionally, this study offers a valuable understanding of the complex nature of water conservation communication, providing practical strategies for enhancing environmental messaging and encouraging positive behaviour changes.
