Hypertension is a non-communicable disease which is currently a major challenge for global and national community healing, and is one of the most common causes of death in the world. According to the NHANES, blood pressure that is not normalized is defined as systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg, where the patient is unconscious, conscious but not treated or treated with antihypertensive drugs. Factors that can cause uncontrolled blood pressure are uncontrollable and controllable factors, namely salt consumption, coffee consumption, and obesity. Analyzing the factors associated with blood pressure in patients with uncontrolled hypertension at Health Center I West Denpasar. This study used a cross-sectional analytic survey approach, involving 57 people using the accidental sampling method. Statistical analysis using Chi-square. The results of the chi square analysis showed that the salt consumption factor was p=0.000, the coffee consumption factor was p=0.041, and the obesity factor was p=0.022. The factor that is most closely related to the increase in blood pressure is coffee consumption with an OR value of 0.224 times. Health workers need to provide information about DASH (Dietary Approaches To Stop Hypertension) in hypertensive patients to help reduce increased blood pressure in addition to taking antihypertensive drugs regularly.

Background: According to the World Health Organization, hypertension is a condition where the blood vessels have high blood pressure (systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg). Hypertension in the elderly is differentiated into hypertension where the systolic pressure is equal to or greater than 140 mmHg and/or diastolic pressure is equal to or greater than 90 mmHg, as well as isolated systolic hypertension where the systolic pressure is greater than 160 mmHg and the diastolic pressure is lower than 90 mmHg (NOC, 2015). Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the effect of complementary back massage therapy on blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. Design: The research design used a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. Methods: This research was carried out from April to October 2023 at the Posyandu for the Elderly in Candimulyo Village, Jombang Regency. The population in this study were all elderly people who attended the Posyandu for the Elderly in Candimulyo Village, Jombang Regency. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, by establishing several criteria. The sample size for each group was 20 respondents. The research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: The Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant difference in blood pressure in the treatment groups with the systole p-value being 0.000, the diastole p-value 0.025. There was no significant difference in blood pressure in the control group, both in systole with a p-value of 0.086 and a diastole p-value of 0.140. There is a significant effect of complementary back massage therapy on systolic blood pressure with a p-value of 0.000 and a diastolic p-value of 0.028. Conclusion: Based on the results of this research, back massage therapy is recommended as a non-pharmacological therapy to stabilize blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular complications in the elderly.

Hipertensi merupakan salah satu jenis penyakit kronis yang keberadaannya dapat menimbulkan risiko terhadap penyakit komplikasi lainnya. Diabetes mellitus seringkali menjadi salah satu penyakit komplikasi yang umum diderita oleh pasien. Tingginya kasus hipertensi tiap tahunnya serta dampak dari hipertensi dengan diabetes mellitus sehingga memungkinkan penggunaan obat yang tidak tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ketepatan penggunaan obat antihipertensi dan mengetahui keberhasilan terapi pada pasien hipertensi dengan penyakit penyerta diabetes mellitus di instalasi rawat jalan RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta tahun 2021. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian non eksperimental dengan analisis deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara retrospektif berdasarkan data dari rekam medis pasien. Pada penelitian ini teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu teknik purposive sampling, sampel ditentukan berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Kriteria inklusi meliputi pasien rawat jalan usia diatas 40 tahun yang didiagnosis hipertensi dengan diabetes mellitus, serta pasien dengan data rekam medis yang lengkap. Sedangkan kriteria eksklusi meliputi pasien hipertensi dengan komorbid penyakit jantung, serta pasien dengan data rekam medis yang tidak lengkap. Diperoleh data sebanyak 147 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil evaluasi ketepatan penggunaan obat antihipertensi pada pasien hipertensi dengan diabetes mellitus di instalasi rawat jalan RSUD Dr. Moewardi tahun 2021 didapatkan hasil sebesar 93,88% tepat dan 6,12% tidak tepat. Ketepatan penggunaan obat meliputi tepat indikasi 100%, tepat pasien 100%, tepat obat 100% dan tepat dosis 93,88%. Regimen terapi antihipertensi yang paling banyak digunakan yaitu terapi antihipertensi tunggal sejumlah 84 pasien (45,40%), sedangkan terapi antihipertensi kombinasi sejumlah 101 pasien (54,60%). Candesartan merupakan obat antihipertensi tunggal yang paling banyak digunakan oleh 33 pasien (17,84%). Sementara itu, kombinasi amlodipin dengan candesartan adalah obat antihipertensi kombinasi yang paling banyak digunakan oleh 35 pasien (18,92%). Berdasarkan keberhasilan terapi antihipertensi hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 89 pasien (60,54%) memiliki tekanan darah terkontrol, sedangkan 58 pasien (39,46%) memiliki tekanan darah yang tidak terkontrol.
