“…Another interesting result is that parents who experienced a decreased impact on their QoL were more likely to be affiliated to a parental association, which is a substantial form of social support. Many studies yielded the importance of social support in parental QoL (Cappe et al 2011;Pozo et al 2014), and because of the difficulties they encounter in their daily life, parents who report an impact of their child's disorders on their QoL are probably more likely to look for social support.…”

“…Various factors are associated with parents of children with ASD reporting lower QoL. These factors include increased challenging behaviours of the child with ASD (Dardas & Ahmad, 2014a;McStay et al, 2014;Tung et al, 2014), severity of ASD (Pozo, Sarria, & Brioso, 2014), lower household income (Dardas & Ahmad, 2014a), decreased levels of social support (Pozo et al, 2014), parental distress (Dardas & Ahmad, 2014a), and parental coping style (Dardas & Ahmad, 2014a;Pozo et al, 2014). The complex interplay between these factors should, therefore, be considered when describing the QoL among parents of children with ASD.…”
