“…When analyzing the answers of each of the CSPS-PB items for some items, compliance with SP for hand hygiene, use of PPE, bath after extensive spattering and needle repacking was unsatisfactory. These data corroborate with the literature, since [4][5][6][7][8] One of the concerns regarding the results presented is the hand hygiene between contacts with patients after removing the gloves, since Regulatory Standard 32 (NR-32) 14 states that the use of gloves does not replace the hand hygiene process, which should occur at least before and after the use of the same. Similar results were observed in a study that indicated adherence of 65.6% of the professionals to this practice, even though it was recognized as simple and important in the prevention and control of infections related to health care.…”

“…Review studies show evidence of several factors which interfere in adherence to standard precautions, such as individual, work-related and organizational (23)(24)(25) . “…The Ishikawa Diagrams based on the Table 1 and 2 are shown in Figure 2 The individual aspects found in this study deserve special mention, since it includes the use of Individual Protection Equipment, this being one of the basic precautions as prevention measures adopted by health professionals when there is blood manipulation and excretions of patients, regardless of whether or not there are contagious diseases defined in pre-diagnosed cases. 13 Other factors, such as inattention to the procedures, disbelief in the occurrence of sharps injuries, stress, risk behavior, long working hours, contribute to the occurrence of work-related accidents. 14 Sharp accidents occur due to inadequate work organization, material availability, neglecting the PPE use and lack of training.…”
