Fault recoverability analysis of switched systems

Abstract: This article provides an approach to evaluate the fault recoverability of switched systems (SS) under given energetic constraints. Such evaluation reveals the capability of the SS to tolerate the worst faults over a prescribed set under possible energy constraints. The evaluation is achieved by using the smallest eigenvalue of a proposed 'switched-system controllability Gramian'. Simulation results about a longitudinal flight control process example are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed metho… Show more

“…Switched systems, multiagent systems and stochastic systems are the most researched in these years. Specifically, H-infinity adaptive tracking control (Wu & Zhao, 2015) and fault recoverability analysis (Yang et al, 2012) were applied to switched systems using average dwelltime method, and the least eigenvalue method, respectively. Multiagent systems had a focus on consensus, including multi-target consensus circle pursuit (Pei et al, 2016), distributed robust finite-time nonlinear consensus protocols (Zuo & Tie, 2016), and group consensus with directed information exchange (Yu & Wang, 2012).…”

“…As for the non‐linear systems, FR has been analysed in [8] based on piecewise affine system approach. Furthermore, such a property has also been analysed and evaluated for switched linear and non‐linear systems in [9, 10].…”

“…On the one hand, so many real‐world systems can be modelled as switched systems, such as chemical systems, power systems and communication networks [914]. On the other hand, the switching control strategy has been widely used in various advanced controls, such as in [15–20]. When the switching law has no given mode (or is arbitrary), one way to investigate the stability and stabilisation problems is to find a common Lyapunov function (CLF) for all the subsystems.…”
