Fe3O4@SiO2-OSO3H nanocomposite as an efficient catalyst for the preparation of tricarboxamides

Abstract: In this research a highly efficient one-pot preparation of tricarboxamide derivatives via five-component reactions of isocyanides, aldehydes Meldrum's acid and 2equiv. of amines have been developed in the presence of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -OSO 3 H nanocomposite. NanoFe 3 O 4 encapsulated-silica particles bearing sulfonic acid was readily recovered using an external magnet and could be reused several times without significant loss of reactivity. The catalyst was fully characterized by VSM, FT-IR, SEM, XRD, EDX and TE… Show more

“…In the FT-IR spectrum of Fe 3 O 4 @RHA, the characteristic peak at 600 cm À 1 was a stretching vibration ascribed to iron-oxygen bonds in the crystal lattice. [3] The usual peak at 463 cm À 1 was related to FeÀ OÀ Si bending vibration. Two peaks at 798 and 1084 cm À 1 were ascribed to the symmetric and asymmetric stretching vibration of the SiÀ OÀ Si bond.…”

“…Also, the silanol group on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles protects the core from oxidation and due to surface changes, it causes adhesion to different groups. [3][4][5] Silica is found in abundance in the earth's crust, but it is mainly made artificially. [6] Natural silica is found in agricultural wastes such as rice husk (RH) and can be a good alternative source for synthetic silica.…”
