Objetivo: compreender os significados da vivência da mulher na sexualidade após o parto vaginal. Método: estudo fenomenológico heideggeriano realizado com 14 mulheres através de entrevista aberta audiogravada, constituindo as unidades de significação e a compreensão vaga e mediana. Resultados: a maioria delas decidiu pelo parto vaginal, mas não recebeu informação sobre ele e nem sobre a vida sexual após. A vivência delas significou ter levado um tempo para o sexo ficar normal ou até mesmo não sentir diferença; não ter tido problemas com a sexualidade e com o corpo; não se importar com os tabus e não se confirmar o que muitas pessoas falavam. Considerações finais: A vivência da sexualidade/vida sexual após o parto se mostrou de forma positiva, apesar do puerpério ser um momento de diversas adaptações, contrariando o que se ouve culturalmente falar, de que a atividade sexual piora após o parto vaginal. Assim, reafirma-se o compromisso do cuidado holístico na saúde e nos direitos sexuais e reprodutivos das mulheres desde o pré-natal ao pós-parto com a atuação da enfermagem obstétrica. A contribuição para a prática é fortalecer a atuação da enfermagem obstétrica, visto que há fragilidades na assistência prestada às gestantes e puérperas pelo enfermeiro generalista e/ou o médico nas unidades de saúde, enquanto que a saúde sexual e reprodutiva das mulheres é um dos pilares da atenção integral da enfermagem obstétrica.

Objective Vaginal laxity could negatively influence women’s sexual function. This study aimed to explore the efficacy and safety of temperature controlled dual-mode (monopolar and bipolar) radiofrequency (RF) in women with vaginal laxity. Methods A total of 102 patients with vaginal laxity were treated with temperature-controlled RF. The present study implemented Vaginal Laxity Questionnaire (VLQ), Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire and Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ) on all patients at baseline and after treatment. Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification System (POP-Q) system was applied to physical examination, and vaginal manometer to examine the strength of voluntary contractions of the pelvic floor muscles. Results The VLQ score was gradually increased after RF treatment at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, accompanying by the significant improvement in total FSFI scores and the six domains (sexual desire, sexual arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, pain). The increased sexual satisfaction based on the SSQ score was found after temperature-controlled RF. The result of POP-Q stage showed significant difference in women after treatment, with the women having Stage I of 45.10% at baseline, 36.27% at 1 month, 28.43% at 3 months, 19.61% at 6 months and 10.78% at 12 months. The mean pressure and mean duration of pelvic contractions were increased gradually at the 1-, 3-, 6- and 12- month follow-up. Conclusion Temperature controlled dual-mode (monopolar and bipolar) radiofrequency may be associated with improvement of vaginal laxity, and contribute to enhancement to female sexual function and pelvic floor muscles.

Hormone-based contraception disrupts hormonal balance, creating artificial states of anovulation and threatening women's health. We reviewed its main adverse effects and mechanisms on accelerated ovarian aging, mental health (emotional disruptions, depression, and suicide), sexuality (reduced libido), cardiovascular (brain stroke, myocardial infarction, hypertension, and thrombosis), and oncological (breast, cervical, and endometrial cancers). Other “collateral damage” includes negative effects on communication, scientific mistrust, poor physician–patient relationships, increased patient burden, economic drain on the healthcare system, and environmental pollution. Hormone-sensitive tumors present a dilemma owing to their potential dual effects: preventing some cancers vs. higher risk for others remains controversial, with denial or dismissal as non-relevant adverse effects, information avoidance, and modification of scientific criteria. This lack of clinical assessment poses challenges to women's health and their right to autonomy. Overcoming these challenges requires an anthropological integration of sexuality, as the focus on genital bodily union alone fails to encompass the intimate relational expression of individuals, complete sexual satisfaction, and the intertwined feelings of trust, safety, tenderness, and endorsement of women's femininity.
