Fibre-optic probe for fluorescence diagnostics with blood influence compensation

Abstract: To minimise the influence of blood content on the fluorescence measurements in vivo, a fibre optical probe combining fluorescence and diffuse reflectance measurements was developed. This technique allows one to decrease the blood content in the tissue as well as alleviate the attenuation effect of blood on the fluorescence spectrum [21].
