Field stabilization of Alvarez-type cavities

Abstract: Alvarez-type cavities are commonly used to reliably accelerate high quality hadron beams. Optimization of their longitudinal field homogeneity is usually accomplished by post-couplers, i.e. additional rods being integrated into the cavity.
