“…Literacy patterns, cultural appropriateness (which is particularly challenging to address in countries with more than one official language and no clear common language) and access to the recommended technologies can be barriers to this approach; for example, it is not possible to avoid open fire cooking until a cheap, safe, readily available alternative is identified 95,98,99 . Furthermore, correction of one risk factor might introduce another; for example, use of liquefied petroleum gas burners as an alternative to open fire cooking without proper training can result in more injuries 100 . Robust data collection and reporting and evidence-based decision making is needed to provide the information to drive this process.…”

“…The patients received specialized treatment from a multidisciplinary team including burn surgeons, infectious diseases physicians and intensive care unit specialists. Based on the Chinese severity of burns standards, an extremely severe burn was defined as a burn area > 50% Total Body Surface Area (TBSA) or > 20% TBSA in a third-degree burn [ 1 ]. Consequently, 16 patients with a burn area of > 50% TBSA were included in this study and patient data were collected from the database.…”

“…Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)-related burns are on the increase over the recent years and therefore pose a significant threat to numerous individuals [ 1 , 2 ]. Notably, several such disasters have been reported in both Turkey [ 3 , 4 ] and India [ 5 ] all of which left dozens of injured victims.…”

“…A number of articles reported burn injury patterns from specific mechanisms including the following: portable heaters, 62 camphor burns, 63,64 combat burns, 65 hot press, 66 campfire burns, 67 friction burns, 68 Freon (contact frostbite), 69 e-cigarettes, [70][71][72][73][74][75] firework injuries, [76][77][78][79][80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87] liquified petroleum gas, 88 hot milk/oil, 89 jewelry ring associated, 90 hot water bottles, 91 and heat lamp burns on replanted digits and free flaps. 92 One case of a patient with Raynaud's phenomenon and hand burns had good outcomes with the use of sildenafil during the burn and split skin graft (SSG) healing.…”
