A simple highly sensitive flame-photometer was built. Ir eonsists of a hydrogen-oxygen flame, a glass prism monochromator anda multiplier phototube (type 931A of IP22).The sensitivities of the measurements were: 0,6 p. p. m. for barium, 0,2 p. p. ra. for strontium, 0,09 p. p. ra. for calcium and 0,005 p. p. m. for potassium. The flame-photometer was developed for the simultaneous determination of Ba, Sr and Ca content of oxide coated cathodes, and for the potassium ana]ysis of K~SiO 3 solutions.A simple method is described for treating the interference effeets of Ba, St and Ca.
