Fleet-Wide Proactive Maintenance of Machine Tools

Abstract: From the capacity of production depending on machine tool availability, it becomes a day-today concern for maintenance operator and production manager. Each stop in production constitutes a loss of earning that should be anticipated to allow an efficient planning of maintenance operation and to avoid unscheduled production downtime. Condition-based maintenance solutions at a machine level provide the operator with tools that support monitoring of the machine's behaviour and highlight behaviour changes. However… Show more

“…A knowledge structure diagram of fleets in the machine field is addressed on the basis of ontologies for diagnostic goals, offering participants with more knowledge and integrated messages regarding the behaviors of system. 42,43 A method of smart problem diagnosis is proposed on the basis of ontology, which revealed an instance of smart problem diagnosis principles. 44,45 A framework of ontological pattern is proposed to get a universal knowledge representation for machine state in factory.…”

“…Similarly, Liu (2018) [37] proposed a CPS framework for health management of wind turbines and demonstrated the health assessment using fleet-based analytics. Peysson et al (2019) [41] has recently presented a framework for fleet-wide maintenance. Within our paper, we prefer the use of the term "multimachine analysis", rather than "fleet" since the latter term inevitable leads one to think more large scale when it comes tothe number of machines whilst our framework can provide significant insights with as little as two machines.…”

“…Several previous approaches have been developed for fault detection, diagnostics, prognostics and maintenance for fleets of systems, with the focus on transferring information between units of a fleet [2]- [8]. Most of the approaches have been developed for a supervised set-up where the main challenge is learning and transferring the relevant fault specific patterns or degradation behaviour between units.…”
