“…The Himalaya, the highest orogen in the world, was formed by continental collision between the Indian and the Eurasian plate at circa 55–50 Ma (e.g., Ding et al, 2016; Guillot et al, 2003; Najman et al, 2010; Yin & Harrison, 2000; Zhu et al, 2015). Widespread crustal anatexis occurred ~30 Ma after the collisioninvolving partial melting of metasedimentary rocks under fluid‐present or fluid‐absent conditions at different structural levels along the Himalayan chain (e.g., Gao et al, 2017; Meng et al, 2021; Weinberg, 2016).
