Abstract:Rhodamine 6G has been used as a fluorescence probe in AOT reversed micelles systems with the different amounts of solubilized water (hydratation power ω). The saturation of fluorescence and the lifetime of dye molecules were measured. The absorption cross section values were calculated from the saturation curves. We showed the differences in values of the absorption cross section, lifetime and velocity of fluorescence saturation in micellar phase with different ω and in comparison to bulk phase. Additionally, … Show more

“…Bulk water presents within the micelles at ω values, which are more than some critical value, and the percentage of bulk water grows with ω increase. The evolution of size [4][5][6] and the variation of physicochemical properties [7,8] of water pools with water content increase were shown.…”

“…The influence of surfactant concentration on the micellar clustering at fixed ω and at different temperatures was obtained in [15,16]. The clustering of reversed micelles at room temperature with increase of ω values up to ω > 40 was found out in [6]. There is the number of works, concerning the interand intra-micellar energy transfer, which results are explained by the micellar interaction [17,18].…”
Influences of temperature, water content ω and ethylene glycol on the structure of waterless and hydrated reversed micelles solutions have been studied by the method of correlation spectroscopy of scattered light. Two points on the temperature scale, characterizing threshold of the formation of micellar clusters and threshold of the stability of surfactant hydrocarbon layer of micelle, were registered and their location dependencies on ω were established. Dependence of the hydrodynamic radius of scattering objects R h on the temperature in the system of waterless reversed micelles
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
