Follow‐up of Children Born to Hypertensive Mothers

Abstract: SUMMARYMaternal hypertension has significant adverse effects on perinatal outcome. We aimed to assess whether there are long‐term effects on growth and neurodevelopment in childhood. Thirty‐seven children were reviewed at a median age of 56 months. Although maternal hypertension had had a significant impact on perinatal outcome of these children, most had normal growth and development in childhood. The severity of maternal hypertension was influential on perinatal outcome, but not on long‐term outcome.
