Formation and Stability of Gaseous Ternary Oxides of Group 14–16 Elements and Related Oxides of Group 15 Elements: Mass Spectrometric and Quantum Chemical Study

Abstract: The formation of four hitherto unknown lead tellurium oxides -PbTeO 3 , PbTe 2 O 5 , Pb 2 TeO 4 and Pb 2 Te 2 O 6 -was observed in the gas phase by means of a mass-spectrometric Knudsen-cell method. Other ternary oxides of group 14-16 elements were not observed in the gas phase.
