Inferior parietal areas of the cortex (inferior parietal lobule; IPL) have been found crucial for spatial hearing in general ( Majdak, Baumgartner, & Jenny, 2020 ; van der Heijden, Rauschecker, de Gelder, & Formisano, 2019 ) and sound motion processing in particular ( Warren, Zielinski, Green, Rauschecker, & Griffiths, 2002 ).
