Formulasi dan Evaluasi Gel Nanopartikel Perak

Abstract

Silver nanoparticles are known to be able to penetrate the cell membranes of acne-causing bacteria andcause structural damages that result in bacterial cell death. Silver nanoparticles need to be formulated inthe form of a gel to make it easier to use. This study was conducted to synthesis the silver nanoparticlesand to formulate it in the form of gel. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was carried out usingthe chemical reduction method with sodium citrate as a reducing agent and gelatin as a stabilizersolution. The characterization results of silver nanoparticles obtained a maximum wavelength of 430.2nm, absorbance of 0.297, particle size of 157.73±15.03 nm, polydispersity index of 0.328±0.032,and spherical morphology. Silver nanoparticles were formulated in gel preparations with variationsconcentrations of HPMC 7%, 10%, and 15%. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded thatformula 3 with an HPMC concentration of 15% was the best formula with physical properties in theform of a viscosity value of 3931.75 ± 92.383 cps, a spreading diameter of 6.41 ± 0.06 cm and aspreading power of 22.78 ± 0.221 g.cm/sec. adhesion 59.43 ± 1.158 seconds, and the pH value of 5.81± 0.04.Keywords: gel, HPMC, silver nanoparticles
