Nowadays, herbs used worldwide due to its medicinal and pharmaceutical potentials. Herbs are also used to prevent human beings from variety of diseases. In the current study, alcoholic extract of which is commonly known as green chiretta used in the development of handwash (herbal). Traditionally, green chiretta was used and known for their different pharmacological action. Alcoholic extract of loaded herbal hand wash prepared by using Carbopol-934 as gelling agent, TEA (triehanolamine) as neutralizer and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA) as surfactant. Antibacterial activity of herbal handwash gel evaluated by cup plate method. Sthaphylococcus aureus, Escherihia coli and Bacillus subtilis are used to assess the potential of gel against microorganisms. It shows good potential action against Bacillus subtilis. Physicochemical characterization of herbal handwash gel was performed by morphological study such as odor, color, pH, foam height, consistency and retention as per chemical standards. The developed herbal hand wash formulation showed no side effects and outcomes are in the limits.

Nosocomial infection has been recognized as a crucial issue in the outcome of hospital care, with significant morbidity and mortality results. The primary routes of infection transmission to patients are the hands of health-care workers. This also evokes utilization of antiseptics for hand-washing purposes. Many of the antiseptics commercially available are sanitizers dependent on alcohol that have certain shortcomings or harmful effects. The regular use can cause dermal irritation. The aim of the present study was to formulate an herbal hand-wash using leave extracts of Terminalia catappa, fruits of Curcuma longa, and rinds of Garcinia indica. Using the Disc diffusion process, the antibiotic activity against skin pathogens was evaluated, and results were compared with commercial antimicrobial hand-wash. The results showed that the herbal hand-wash was more effective against Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli than the commercially available antiseptic hand-wash. The effectiveness of herbal hand-wash was analysed using the Glove Juice method, which revealed that herbal hand-wash is effective in reducing pathogenic microbes present on the hands better than commercial hand-wash. These plant extracts can therefore be used for formulating herbal hand-wash to prevent hand borne microbial infections.

The need for herbal medicines is rising day by day tremendously all over the world. Many pharma industries are nowadays directing their studies on herbal material for their probable therapeutic values. In various scientifi c journals, a growing volume of research publications relied upon plant-based drugs and formulations. Hypertension is an important chronic disorder in economically developed as well as developing countries. According to WHO guidelines, it is necessary to standardize the herbal products that reach patients. Hence, standardizing the herbal antihypertensive formulations is necessary to give safe and eff ective medicines to the patients and society. The herbal antihypertensive formulation was standardized according to Ayurvedic Pharmacopeia and WHO guidelines. Various parameters such as botanical, physicochemical, pharmacological and toxicological were studied. A pharmacological study was carried to screen the selected marketed formulations for hemolytic and antihypertensive activity. The study showed that all formulations pass most of the standardization parameters and can be recommended for human beings. The outcome of present study will support the process of regulatory agencies and help in maintaining the quality of herbal medicines.
