Water-scarce areas can be identified from geology, meteorology, water installations, and drought conditions in the area. All of these aspects can be found in Kulon Progo Regency. The aim of this research is to identify water scarcity areas in Kulon Progo Regency and to determine priorities areas for building up some deep wells. There are four parts of the method that used in this study, there are water scarcity areas from the geological aspect interpreted based on geological, hydrogeological, and groundwater basin maps, meteorological aspects using the water balance method and drought index, distribution water installation analyzed from PDAM data, and drought information collection from interview. Based on a study on the identification of water scarcity areas in Kulon Progo Regency with geological and hydrogeological parameters, meteorological drought, PDAM and SPAM, and Interviews, it was found that 181 hamlets that having water-scarce in 35 villages in 11 sub-districts both covering areas that can be drilled and cannot be drilled. The number of water-scarce areas selected for groundwater drilling is 104 hamlets. The number of water scarcity areas in 1st priority is 37 hamlets, there are 21 helmets for 2nd priority, and 46 hamlets for 3rd priority.

In line with sustainable development, the goal of this research is to identify the people involved toward the meaning of Batik pattern and the action of regional government in arranging the regulation of "Geblek Renteng" innovation at Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta Special Province. The analysis method used qualitative and descriptive approaches involving five entrepreneurs / craftsmen and 30 customers. Firstly, to ensure the sustainability of cultural values, this study analysed the responses from business owners and customers about the name and meaning of Batik patterns. The result found limited knowledge in explaining the meaning of Batik so that it requires a cultural education for promoting these products. Secondly, the commercialization of "Geblek Renteng" aligns with the four goals of sustainable development so that it can improve economic growth and serves social welfare for the rural communities. This descriptive study investigated the perceived impacts and challenges of rural tourism in Surigao del Norte, Philippines. A survey of 400 stakeholders from 20 municipalities was conducted to assess perceptions regarding economic, socio-cultural, and ecological capital. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the data, and chi-square tests and z-tests were employed to analyze differences between demographic groups and correlations between perceived impacts and challenges. The findings revealed a predominantly positive perception of rural tourism's impacts on all three forms of capital, with significant benefits identified in job creation, investment attraction, cultural exchange, and environmental conservation. However, challenges related to infrastructure, business support, environmental protection, and community involvement were also highlighted, with perceptions of economic challenges varying significantly among stakeholder categories. This research contributes valuable insights for the development of sustainable and inclusive rural tourism strategies in the region.
