“… 28,34 The main PVP bands are also noticeable in AgNWs silk‐coated spectra. It was found previously that strong hydrogen bonds between the γ‐lactam group on PVP and the catechol group of PDA allowed the formation of strong interaction of both components 35 …”

“…Notably, several new peaks at 725 to 500 cm −1 for C-PDA-1.0% PVP-6h confirmed the existence of hydrogen bonds between the γ-lactam and catechol group on PDA. 33 Figure 5c 34,35 However, the surface C−N/C−O ratio of C-PDA-1.0% PVP-6h was notably higher than that of C-PDA-6h, increasing from 18.91 to 24.07%, which confirms the presence of PVP-containing γ-lactam in the structural colored film of the cotton fabric. The O−CO ratio drops of C-PDA-1.0% PVP-6h, which may be attributed to the cotton fabric surface, is more tightly covered by the PDA film.…”

“…The strong peak at 1290 cm –1 can be assigned to the C–N stretching vibration, while the characteristic peak near 1050 cm –1 can be assigned to the C–O–C stretching vibration of cotton fabrics. Notably, several new peaks at 725 to 500 cm –1 for C-PDA-1.0% PVP-6h confirmed the existence of hydrogen bonds between the γ-lactam and catechol group on PDA …”

“…Poly( N -vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) is one of the water-soluble polymers promising for the creation of adhesive compositions [ 1 ], wastewater treatment systems [ 2 , 3 ] and drug delivery [ 4 , 5 , 6 ]. Poly( N -vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) is also used to impart hydrophilic properties to fibers [ 7 , 8 ], as a modifier and pore-forming agent in the preparation of membranes [ 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 ], as well as for the formation of nanoparticles [ 12 , 13 ] and hydrogels [ 14 ]. Although poly( N -vinyl-2-pyrrolidone)-based hydrogels are promising for the inclusion of drugs and water treatment [ 6 ], the chemical inertia of N -vinyl-2-pyrrolidone residues [ 5 , 6 ] creates impediments for crosslinking chains in one stage under mild conditions.…”
