“…If we multiply the yields in Table 1 by the corresponding mass yields [17], the total Tc-yield observed in fission product masses A < 107 at the most probable kinetic energy Ep is (0.134-0.05)%. Thus our earlier results [7] as well as previous radiochemical measurements [19,20], which gave very low Tc-yields, are supported by the present measurements. At present it is difficult to decide whether this sudden drop in the yield from Z = 42 to Z =43 is due to a stable Z = 50 shell in the complementary heavy fragments.…”

“…The chemical yield was found to be ~ 60%. [23,24] To obtain the fractional cumulative yields of 101 Mo, ,03 MO, 104 MO and ,0S Mo, the Tc was separated from its precursor Mo by adsorption of Tc0 4 on a preformed precipitate of tetraphenyl arsonium chlorate [(C 6 H s ) 4 As]C10 4 This precipitate is formed when a dilute solution of HC10 4 is added to a [(C 6 H S ) 4 As]Cl solution. The chemical yield of Tc was determined using 99m Tc tracer.…”
