“…The residual velocity captured by the high-speed camera was 711.8 m/s. Then the SEA value was calculated by equation (1). Table 1 shows the area density and SEA of Ti/Al 3 Ti and other common armor materials.…”

“…The Ti/Al 3 Ti metal/intermetallic laminate (MIL) composite is a new armor material, which combines the toughness of metal with the high specific stiffness, strength, and creep resistance of the intermetallic components. [1][2][3][4] The laminate structure and damage mode allowed for higher impact energy of the Ti/Al 3 Ti composite than other materials. The ballistic performance of the composite has been studied experimentally by Harach, who found that the protective properties are similar to armor steel.…”

“…Recently, a novel ceramic fiber-reinforced metallic-intermetallic laminated (CFR-MIL) composite, Ti-Al 3 Ti-Al 2 O 3 -Al, was fabricated using reactive foil sintering technique in air. 16 It demonstrated that the reinforcement Al 2 O 3 fibers distributing in residual Al could improve the toughness of the CFR-MIL composite effectively. However, a large amount of residual Al was remained in intermetallic layer, which led to a decline in strength and modulus of the composite.…”

“…The study of thermal characteristics and low velocity drop weight impact property of flax fiber has good evaluation up to 300 °C and 2500N, the case of fire resistance there is good observation seen for flax fiber [1]. The experimental study on fluid structure interaction to evaluate the dynamic response of the composite [2].The effect of water absorption in the basalt/flax composite reinforced with vinyl ester matrix depends upon the fiber loading conditions, similarly interlaminar fracture is said to be an important factor [3]. The mechanical properties of bio-composites are an objective to study about the surface modification on both reinforcement and matrix [4].…”
