Frequency Reconfigurable Patch Antenna Controlled by PIN Diodes for Ku and K-Bands Applications

Abstract: The main aim of this work is to design a reconfigurable frequency antenna for the sake of evaluating its performances for telecommunication applications in the Ku and k bands. Using the HFSS software, the proposed antenna structure is optimized with etching two rectangular slots having the same size at the radiant element level. The partial ground plane length is limited at the Lg = 2 mm value. To achieve the desired frequency agility, a PIN diode is inserted into the microstrip line feeding the antenna struct… Show more

“…Very less literatures are available for reconfigurable antenna for K band application. A pattern reconfigurable antenna using multiport excitation, 12 frequency reconfigurable antenna for K band application based on SIW, 13 and PIN diode‐controlled 14 reconfigurable antenna for K band application are few of them. Many antennas are available for K band application, like a horn antenna, 15 a patch antenna for Ku band, 16 ultra‐wideband patch antenna, 17 and wideband antenna for k and Ku band 18 .…”
