Fuling‐Guizhi Herb Pair in Coronary Heart Disease: Integrating Network Pharmacology and In Vivo Pharmacological Evaluation

Abstract: The Fuling (Poria cocos)-Guizhi (Cinnamomi ramulus) herb pair (FGHP) is a commonly used traditional Chinese herbal formula with coronary heart disease (CHD) treatment potential. However, the mechanism of FGHP in the treatment of CHD was still unclear. In this study, the action targets and underlying mechanism of FGHP against CHD were successfully achieved by combined network pharmacology prediction with experimental verification. 76 common targets were screened out by overlapping the chemical-protein data of F… Show more

“…Ginger restores yang and strengthens the pulse, warms the middle, and nourishes the qi. Licorice regulates the qi and harmonizes various medicines to make medicine [ 16 19 ]. The combined use of various medicines has the effects of replenishing qi, activating blood, dredging collaterals, and relieving pain.…”

“…However, the multiple targets, pathways, and mechanisms of its antitumor effect remain unclear. Network pharmacology has been widely adopted by many studies to investigate the potential activity, targets, and pathways of medicinal plants, herb pairs, or herbal formulas with complex ingredients [ 41 , 42 ]. Thus, network pharmacology provides a novel opportunity for us to investigate potentially pharmacological and molecular mechanisms of GEB against CRC in this study.…”

“…Although scholars have continued their search for druggable molecular targets in TNBC, to date, no specific drug has been found to be effective [ 21 ]. A large number of studies have shown that the treatment of cancer with traditional Chinese herbal formulas involves the interaction of multiple targets and multiple signalling pathways [ 22 24 ]. Therefore, TCM may have great potential for the treatment of TNBC.…”
