FMT using postoperative stool samples from AL patients leads to poor anastomotic healing in rats (Jin et al, 2022). Mice receiving preoperative stool samples from AL patients with CRC also display poor surgical healing, which is correlated with two bacterial strains, Alistipes onderdonki (A. onderdonkii) and Parabacteroides goldsteinii (P. goldsteinii), and A. onderdonkii supplementation leads to a higher rate of leaks in mice (Hajjar et al, 2022).…”
