GC-MS Analysis of Ethyl Acetate Extract of Whole Plant of Rostellularia diffusa

Abstract: Introduction:To identify the various phyto constituents present in the unexplored plant Rostellularia diffusa (Willd.) by using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Methods: The whole plant of Rostellularia diffusa was extracted with ethyl acetate at room temperature for 72 h. The concentrated extract was subjected to GCMS analysis to detect the phyto constituents. Results: Totally 40 compounds were identified and the chromatograph showed 40 peaks with 40 individual compounds. The major constituents were … Show more

“…The total fatty acids and active compounds of Moringa oleifera seed oil were determined according to the method approved by [16] using a gas chromatograph (GC-mass) equipped by Agilent Technology (7820-A). The column length was (30 meters), the inner diameter was (250 microns), the column thickness was (0.25 microns), the pressure was (11.933 psi), and the temperature was (250 o C).…”

“…Herbal medicines are predominant ingredient derived from diverse parts of the plants with miscellaneous applications in pharmaceutical and herbal industry 1 . Herbal medicines have become more prominent in the treatment of innumerable diseases due to fashionable belief that green medicine is secured and easily convenient, with less side effects and extension of the therapeutic value by condensing the toxicity and side effects of drugs at the same time it also boost the bioavailability [2][3] The plant Cocculus pendulus (synonym: Cocculus leaeba) is a woody climbers and scandent shrub which is commencing unusally in efficient areas, along rocks and in the dry mountainous areas of Venkatadri and Seshadri hills of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh this species dispersed in subtropical and tropical countries all over the world to treat discrete abnormalities 4 In the present study, we evaluated the phytochemical constituents of ethanol extract of Cocculus pendulus by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS), to furnish the scientific information to evolve potential phytomedicine 5…”
