Abstract:Abstract. We describe the behavior of families of periodic points in one parameter families of maps of the interval which feature a transition from simple dynamics with finitely many periodic points to chaotic mappings. In particular, we give topological criteria for the appearance and disappearance of these families. Our results apply specifically to quadratic maps of the form F (x) = fuc(l -x).0. Introduction. In recent years, much attention has been paid to the dynamical properties of smooth mappings of the… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
