“…12,13 Generalized eruptive histiocytosis is rarely associated with malignant hematologic disorders of the myeloid lineages. [1][2][3][4] In 2 patients, the detection of a malignant tumor preceded the GEH 1,2 ; in 1 patient and in our case, it occurred concomitantly with the GEH 8 ; and in 1 patient, it followed the GEH. 4 Two patients with GEH associated with hematologic malignant tumors had unusual features of the GEH, such as multiple lipidladen histiocytes and numerous foreign-body giant cells seen histopathologically 1 or a tendency of the lesions to coalesce without spontaneous resolution.…”

“…Although GEH usually takes a benign, self-healing course, 4 cases have been reported of an association of GEH with neoplastic hematologic disorders of the myeloid lineage, such as acute monocytic leukemia or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. [1][2][3][4] It has been hypothesized that GEH and the associated hematologic neoplasms may be clonally related. However, only one previous case indicates a clonal association between the 2 entities by confirming a deletion of the Y chromosome in the leukemic cells and the skin infiltrate.…”

“…Langerhans cell histiocytosis is rarely accompanied by other hematological disorders, such as myelodysplastic syndrome and myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS/MPN) including CMML . While solid tumors can also be coexistent with LCH with less frequency, concomitance of urothelial tumors has been reported only in multicentric reticulohistiocytosis but not in LCH.…”

“…It is interesting that of the xanthogranuloma group, there have been five case reports of “atypical generalized eruptive histiocytosis (GEH)” associated with myeloid neoplasm including two cases of CMML, 38,39 one case of acute monocytic leukemia, 40 one case of acute myelomonocytic leukemia, 41 and one case of chronic eosinophilic leukemia 42 . GEH is a rare xanthogranulomatous disorder in adults that presents with generalized, symmetric, discrete, and flesh‐colored to bluish‐red papules, developing in crops and often involuting spontaneously 38,40,42 .…”
