Generation of Monopole Ultrasonic Pulse from a Circular Source and It's On-axis Pressure Characteristics

Abstract: High-performance visible (λ ≈ 680 nm) Ga x In 1−x P/(Al y Ga 1−y ) 0.51 In 0.49 P compressively strained single quantum well laser diodes have been grown by solid source molecular beam epitaxy. The waveguide region was designed to have a low Al content in order to enhance the optical field confinement and to improve the material quality. The threshold current density for an infinity long cavity length was estimated to be 150 A cm −2 . The highest external quantum efficiency of 37% per facet was obtained for a … Show more

“…Even an ideal piston sound source generates side lobes, but these are small in the case of the partial electrode transducer. Since the side lobe is one factor that determines the directivity of the transducer [6,9,11], it is important to consider the directivity of a partial electrode transducer in designing the ultrasonic probe.…”

“…For this reason, vibration of the transducer is not like piston source and vibration velocity is distributed on the surface of transducer [2,3,4,5]. As a result, the sound field is not always generated as represented by Rayleigh integral [6,7,8,9,10,11,12].…”

“…In our experiment, we used the ringing suppression and its generation method of ultrasonic monopole pulse through ultrasonic signal application developed by Professors Imano and Uchino. [18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26] The designing of voltage waveform with suppressed ringing, voltage waveform preferably includes finite rise and fall time, such as a moderate-slope voltage waveform, and no component of resonance frequency within a bolt-clamped Langevin type transducer (hereafter written as BLT). [27][28][29][30][31][32][33] However, in this study we utilized a simple shape half sine waveform to design a rising and falling pulse.…”
