“…In our study, PIC value of the markers varied from minimum 0.2957 with primer SORF-73 (B-27) to a maximum 0.8768 with SR_9222 with an average of 0.6555. The average PIC values were comparable as reported (Patel et al, 2018) where the PIC value ranged from 0.427-0.730 with an average of 0.555 and Shyam et al, (2020) who reported polymorphism information content (PIC) value of the markers varied from minimum 0.51for SSR Na10-D07 to maximum 0.73 with primer BRMS-098 with a mean value of 0.62 (Table 5). PIC values reported by Bharti et al, (2018) ranged from 0.34 to 0.49 with an average of 0.41 while Gupta et al, (2014) reported low PIC value 0.281 for SSR markers during their study on molecular diversity analysis of mustard.…”

“…However, BG119 (0.206), BG116 (0.234) and BG135 (0.278) had low PIC values and could be considered as the least powerful markers. The average PIC value (0.519) observed in our study was consistent with previous estimates of SSR marker analysis in Indian mustard by Avtar et al (2016) [2] and Patel et al (2018) who reported average PIC values of 0.529 and 0.555, respectively. On the other hand, the observed value was higher than the values of 0.46, 0.28 and 0.31 reported by Turi et al (2012) [20] , Gupta et al (2014) [5] , and Sudan et al (2016) [17] , respectively.…”

In our study, the average PIC values were found to be higher than that of reported by Patel et al [29], where the PIC value ranged from 0.427-0.730 with an average of 0.555. PIC values reported by Bharti et al (2018) ranged from 0.34 to 0.49 with an average of 0.41.…”
