GENETIC PARAMETER ESTIMATES FOR GROWTH TRAITS IN AN Eucalyptus Urophylla S.T. Blake PROGENY TEST IN TIMOR ISLAND

Abstract: GENETIC PARAMETER ESTIMATES FOR GROWTH TRAITS IN AN EUCALYPTUS UROPHYLLA S.T. BLAKE PROGENY TEST IN TIMOR ISLAND.Genetic parameters were estimated for growth traits of Ampupu (Eucalyptus urophylla S.T. Blake) progeny test grown in Southern Central Timor -East Nusa Tenggara Province, Timor Island. When the trial was one year old data were collected from 45 half-sib open pollinated families and assessed. There were genetic variations in height and diameter among families of E. urophylla. Growth traits had modera… Show more

“…Seeds family, resistance, and interaction between block and resistance significantly influence both the height and diameter variables. A similar result was found in the 12 months after planting F. moluccana (Hardiyanto 2012), 11 months after planting E. urophylla (Sumardi et al 2016), and 12 and 54 months after planting N. cadamba (Sudrajat et al 2016). The value of family variation shows the level of genetic variation of the main tree.…”

“…It also had a good tolerance to a wide range of environmental conditions (Saadaoui et al, 2017). Several studies report E. urophylla can grow well in a dry and wet environment with an altitude of 100-2,000 m above sea level (Zhang et al, 2015;Sumardi et al, 2016;. This species can survive in alkaline and acid soils with an acidity level of 5-7 (Lu et al, 2020;.…”
