Genetic relationship, population structure analysis and allelic characterization of flowering and maturity genes E1, E2, E3 and E4 among 90 Indian soybean landraces

Abstract: A set of 90 Indian soybean landraces were analysed for polymorphism at 43 SSRs and five allele specific markers of four major genes involved in regulating flowering and photoperiod response. A total of 42 polymorphic SSRs had amplified 126 alleles which served as raw data for estimation of genetic relationship and population structure among 90 accessions. Rare alleles of four and three SSRs were detected in accessions IC18768 and IC15089, respectively. Gene diversity in the population ranges from 0.065 to 0.71… Show more

“…Soybean crop in India is mainly grown under rainfed conditions where a short growing season and high cropping intensity warrants development of extra early (80-85 days) and early maturing genotypes (85-90 days) (Kumawat et al 2019a;Maranna et al 2021;Nataraj et al 2021a).…”

“…Genetically diverse genotypes identi ed through molecular markers have been employed as parents in breeding programs [29,30]. Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers have been extensively employed in genetic diversity assessment studies in soybean [31,32,33]. With this background, current investigation has been taken up for identi cation and molecular characterization of high-yielding charcoal rot resistant soybean genotypes 2.…”

“…Знание фенологических характеристик образцов, составляющих коллекции, обуславливает успех их дальнейшего использования в молекулярно-генетических исследованиях и позволяет расширить генетическое разнообразие источников скороспелости, используемых в селекционных программах (Seferova, Novikova, 2015;Vishnyakova et al, 2017;Miladinović et al, 2018;Kumawat et al, 2019).…”
